The Congressional art competition encourages and recognizes the artistic talents of students nationwide. The contest is open to all high school students in Morongo Basin. Students can submit art to the competition through their high school art instructors. The winning piece will be displayed in the U.S. Capitol complex for a year; second place will be displayed in Congressman Paul Cook’s Capitol office, and the third place selection will be on display in his Apple Valley District office. Art entries must be original in concept, design, and execution, be 28 inches square or under, and up to four inches in depth. Submissions may be: paintings, drawings, collage, prints, mixed media, computer generated art, or photography. The deadline to enter is April 10.
