The Second Saturday Art Crawl continues tonight with opening receptions at several Joshua Tree art galleries. Gallery 62 will feature works by Kat Johnson, Noreen Lawlor, Erick Johnson, Mark Spangenberg, and Jeffrey Turner at their “Ides of Summer” show. The show is up through July 31, and the gallery is open Saturdays 9 to 3 and Sundays from 12 to 3. Joshua Tree Excursions, 61325 29 Palms Highway, will feature photography by Tami Roleff. Space Cowboy Bookdstore in Sun Alley will feature the work of J. Scott Evans. The opening are receptions are from 6 to 8 p.m. tonight. In addition, the Joshua Tree Community Jazz Band will be playing 7 to 10 p.m. in the courtyard at Zanndelions Boutique, 61877 29 Palms Highway. A no-host bar and munchies will be available; donations are requested. On Sunday, the 29 Palms Art Gallery will hold an opening reception for its members’ art show. The reception will be held from 12 to 3 Sunday, and the exhibit will be on display through July 31. Artwork by Anne Lear, Esther Shaw, Doug Dolde, Kim Clements, and many others will be on display. The gallery is open Friday through Sunday from 12 to 3 during the summer months.
