ART RECEPTION AT DOWNTOWN TWENTYNINE PALMS GALLERY FRIDAY

A reception for the fall Art in Public Places exhibition, “Women Pioneers: Tough as Nails,” will be combined with a Pioneer Days opening celebration this Friday, October 14, at the Twentynine Palms Visitor Center Gallery and Chamber of Commerce in downtown Twentynine Palms. The public is invited to the reception from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., which will feature live music in Bucklin Park, appetizers provided by Bistro Twentynine, and the art exhibition inside the Visitor Center and Chamber building, adjacent to the park. Admission is free. Music for the reception will be provided by The Luminators, featuring Mark Ross on mandolin and Paul Gerkin on guitar. The group exhibition features work by desert artists in acrylic, pencil, mixed media, collage, photography, fabric art, assemblage and other three-dimensional works.
