A live and silent auction, combined with music and food, raised $2,182.50 for Reach Out Morongo Basin to help senior citizens maintain their independent lifestyles. Auctioneer Larry Bowden of Twentynine Palms encouraged buyers to bid up the price of items, and photographer Paul Morehead of Joshua Tree obliged, bidding on one of his own photographs, forcing Richard Bishop of Yucca Valley to pay $300 for it. The auction was held at ArtFx and Furnishings in Yucca Valley. The event concluded with musical sets by the Luminators and Shawn Mafia.
