ARSON SUSPECT SOUGHT IN JOSHUA TREE

The Sheriff’s Department is searching for a suspect in an arson in Joshua Tree. About 10:41 p.m. Friday, firefighters from the Joshua Tree station were called to a fire at a vacant residence in the 62000 block of Mountain View Circle. The home was being remodeled, and the fire was mostly confined to the rafters and living room. Firefighters had the fire under control in about 20 minutes. Witnesses reported seeing a man leaving the scene prior to the start of the fire, and investigators have determined the cause was arson.
