A Wonder Valley man was arrested Wednesday afternoon, accused of burglary. According to Sheriff’s Sergeant Derek Garvin, a deputy initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by Daniel Weber, 33, in the 74700 block of Sunset Drive. During the course of the traffic stop, the deputy determined that Weber had a $150,000 warrant for being a habitual offender and prior convictions of theft. Found in the car with Weber were items that had been reported stolen during a burglary in Twentynine Palms Tuesday. Daniel Weber was arrested on his warrants and for investigation of burglary. He was booked at the Morongo Basin Jail with his total bail set at $175,000.
A Yucca Valley man was arrested Tuesday afternoon after he was found breaking into a home. According to a Sheriff’s report, a woman called shortly before 1:30 p.m. Tuesday to report a man had been walking in front of her home in the 7600 block of Fox Trail in Yucca Valley for the past 10 minutes, and she felt he was casing her home. About 10 minutes later, she called back to say the man, later identified as Zachary Hayes, 27, had cut the screen and was now in her back patio. After an investigation, Zachary Hayes was arrested on suspicion of residential robbery, and on warrants for possession of a controlled substance, and on a parole violation, He was booked at the Morongo Basin Jail and is being held without bail.
