ARRESTS AFTER ASSAULTS ON FAMILY MEMBERS IN YUCCA VALLEY AND JOSHUA TREE

A Yucca Valley man was arrested Saturday night after he threatened and assaulted family members. According to a Sheriff’s report, deputies were called to a home in the 56800 block of Ivanhoe Drive in Yucca Valley just after 10 p.m. Residents at the home said Craig Tyerman Jr., 38, assaulted a dependent adult family member who required medical treatment, and threatened two elderly family members who lived in the home. Craig Tyerman Jr. was arrested on suspicion of making criminal threats and elder abuse, booked into the West Valley Detention Center, and released Sunday afternoon on $100,000 bail.

A Joshua Tree man was arrested Saturday night, accused of beating up his stepfather. According to a Sheriff’s report, deputies were called to the 61700 block of Morningside Road in Joshua Tree about 9:30 p.m. for a disturbance. The victim told deputies that Blake Law, 30, had assaulted him, and deputies saw several injuries on his face. Deputies found Law hiding inside the home. Blake Law was arrested for investigation of assault with serious injuries, booked into the West Valley Detention Center, with his bail set at $100,000.
