AN ARREST IN YUCCA VALLEY AFTER THANKSGIVING DAY ATTEMPTED MURDER

A Yucca Valley woman was arrested Thursday morning, accused of attempted murder. According to a Sheriff’s report, Shawna Estrada, 44, used a kitchen knife to slash an unidentified man in the neck in the 7100 block of Murray Lane in Yucca Valley about 6 a.m. Estrada and the victim were arguing before the attack. The victim, identified only as a man in his 40s, was slashed from the left side of his neck close to his carotid artery, cutting his trachea, and continuing down to his chest. He was taken to Desert Hospital in Palm Springs in serious condition. Shawna Estrada was arrested for investigation of attempted murder and booked into the Morongo Basin Jail. She was released on $1 million bail at 5:05 Saturday afternoon.
