A Twentynine Palms man was arrested Thursday, accused of telling his ex-wife not to testify in a criminal case against him. According to a Sheriff’s report, Jeffrey Brown, 28, has a court date of November 3 for a case of willful cruelty to a child and violating a court order to prevent domestic violence. He also had a restraining order placed against him. About 11 a.m. Thursday, Brown allegedly drove to the workplace of the woman who filed the restraining order against him and told her not to testify in court against him. The woman called the Sheriff’s Department to report the violation, and as the deputy was interviewing the woman, Brown allegedly drove by her home. The deputy made a traffic stop and the report states that Brown admitted to going to the woman’s place of employment and telling her not to testify. Jeffrey Brown was arrested for investigation of dissuading a witness and violation of a court order, booked into the Morongo Basin Jail, with his bail set at $25,000.
