ARREST FOR BURGLARY, DRUGS, IN TWENTYNINE PALMS, JOSHUA TREE, AND LANDERS

A Twentynine Palms transient was arrested last week, accused of burglary. According to a Sheriff’s department, a neighbor in the 6200 block of Cholla Avenue reported seeing an unknown man in a nearby back yard about 4:30 p.m. Thursday, September 1, apparently trying to break into a vacant home. The man, later identified as Dwaine Webber, 34, told the deputy he was scrapping at the home. During a search of the Webber’s possessions, the deputy found methamphetamine. After an investigation, Dwaine Webber was arrested on suspicion of possession of stolen property, booked at the Morongo Basin Jail, with his bail set at $75,000.
 
A Joshua Tree man was arrested early Tuesday morning, accused of drug possession. According to a Sheriff’s report, a deputy stopped Jesse Stoneburner, 31, near Capilla Drive and Hill View Road in Joshua Tree about 1 a.m. Stoneburner allegedly dropped a baggie of methamphetamine and a drug pipe on the ground, which he later told the deputy he had purchased and was taking it to his girlfriend. Jesse Stoneburner was arrested for investigation of unlawful sale of speed and on a misdemeanor warrant, booked at the Morongo Basin Jail with his bail set at $80,000.
 
A Landers man was arrested last week, accused of drug possession. According to a Sheriff’s report, a deputy stopped a pedestrian about 1:30 p.m. Thursday, September 1. The man at first gave a false name, but the deputy later determined his identity as James Eidson, 47. During a records check, the deputy determined that Eidson had an active misdemeanor warrant for his arrest for possession of hashish. Eidson was also arrested for investigation of possession of methamphetamine, a controlled substance, and drug paraphernalia, and giving false identification to a police officer. James Eidson was booked at the Morongo Basin Jail with his bail set at $50,000.
