Local pilots are invited to learn how to avoid military aircraft in the area. Managing editor Tami Roleff has the details…
When you’re flying, it’s not a good idea for one plane to be in another plane’s airspace. The Combat Center and Copper Mountain College will hold a Mid-Air Avoidance Safety Class at the college on March 7. The class will identify safety issues facing military and civilian pilots flying in the Morongo Basin, and will educate civilians on the different types of military special use airspace they might encounter while flying in the area. The class, which is free and open to the public, will be held from 9 to noon in Room 119 at the college. For more information call Kristina Becker at 760-830-3765.
