The Criminal Investigation Division on board the Twentynine Palms Combat Center is looking for an Arcata man who has been phoning in threats to various units at the Combat Center. Since October 15, Shawn Weatherhead, 47, has called at least four units, including the Naval Hospital, the Post Office, 3rd Battalion, 4th Marine Regiment, and 1st Battalion, 7th Marine Regiment, and made threatening statements: “I hopes all military members hang,” “You stand of treason against the United States,” and “I would hang military members on pay per view.” Investigators say that Weatherhead is on probation for making criminal threats to other government agencies, including to the Recruit Depot in Parris Island, South Carolina; military bases in Corpus Christi, Texas, Newport, Rhode Island, Barstow, and Yuma, Arizona; as well as the Wisconsin governor’s office, and the Wyoming Criminal Investigation Division. Weatherhead has been calling from the phone number 707-510-9208. Shawn Weatherhead’s probation officer has said that he is mentally ill.
