A new show at the 29 Palms Visitor Center opens on January 8, featuring artwork inspired by winter in the desert. Reporter Jef Harmatz has a rundown of the event.

On Saturday night, the 29 Palms Visitor Center will hold an opening for their new show called “Apricity: The Warmth of the Sun in the Winter.” The group exhibition features paintings, photography, mixed media, and three-dimensional artwork inspired by how the colder seasons affect and change the Mojave Desert. The show opens on Saturday from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m., and there will be light hospitality. Face masks are required. The show will remain on display until March and can be viewed during regular gallery hours, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. every day. The gallery is located at 73484 29 Palms Highway on the corner of Desert Queen Ave in Twentynine Palms.
