APPLICATION PERIOD STARTS TODAY FOR YOUTH CONSERVATION CORPS

This summer, Joshua Tree National Park will sponsor an eight-week Youth Conservation Corps. Young people between the ages of 15 and 18 are encouraged to apply. To be eligible, applicants may not reach their 19th birthday during the program. Selected applicants will start work in June and continue in the program until August. Corps members will earn the hourly minimum wage for California. Work will be eight-hour days, Monday through Friday, with every other Friday off.
The program provides young people of the community with excellent hands-on work experience. Work is labor intensive and performed throughout the park. This year there will be positions available twith the trail maintenance crew, vegetation restoration, and interpretation/education divisions.
Application forms are available from March 4 to April 15 at the Joshua Tree National Park Headquarters in Twentynine Palms. The application form must be returned to the Human Resources office no later than April 15.
