An Apple Valley man was arrested Monday (February 21), following an unsuccessful attempted robbery and responsive homeowner. On February 21, just after 1 a.m., a press release details that deputies with the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department responded to a reported shooting in Joshua Tree. Several people had called 911 and reported a male subject, later identified as Joshua Watson, 36, had been shot near the 60000 block of Del Oro Road. Upon arrival, deputies reportedly determined Watson was suffering from a gunshot wound to his leg, leading to an investigation. Through investigation, it was determined Watson and an unknown subject attempted to burglarize a residence in Joshua Tree and was confronted by the homeowner. During the confrontation, deputies report that an exchange of gunfire occurred, leading to Watson being struck in the leg. The homeowner was not injured during the incident. Joshua Watson was subsequently treated for his injuries and arrested for investigation of attempted burglary, weapon charges, and a probation violation.
