ANOTHER SHERIFF PATROL CAR CRASHES IN TWENTYNINE PALMS

Two suspects in the back seat of a Twentynine Palms Sheriff’s patrol car got an E-ticket ride to the jail Wednesday night. According to a Sheriff’s report, about 10:45 last night, a Sheriff’s patrol car was traveling southbound on Adobe Road in the number 2 lane, when another pick-up truck in the number one lane crossed over the center line at Sun Valley Drive, right in front of Santana’s Restaurant. The patrol car hit the right rear passenger door of the truck and suffered damage to its left front bumper. The two suspects in the patrol car complained of pain and were taken Hi-Desert Medical Center for treatment before being taken to the jail. Both cars were driven away.

The suspects in the back seat of the patrol car had been arrested shortly beforehand, accused of possession of dangerous drugs. The Sheriff’s report indicates that deputies responded to a report of a fight at a residence in the 6400 block of Cholla Avenue. The report states deputies were given consent to search the residence, and during the search, found suspected methamphetamine hidden under a couch cushion. Tina Rodriguez, 33, and Heaven Lee Wilburn, 21, were arrested for investigation of being under the influence of controlled substance.
