ANOTHER NEAR-DROWNING OF A CHILD, THIS TIME IN JOSHUA TREE

There was another near-drowning of a child in a pool yesterday. According to a Sheriff’s report, a woman was sitting with her 3-year-old daughter out by the spa at the Joshua Tree Retreat Center about 2 p.m. The report states the woman looked at the Bhakti Fest schedule for less than a minute, and when she looked up, someone was pulling her daughter—who was not breathing—out of the water. A bystander performed CPR on the girl until she revived. The girl was taken to Loma Linda Medical Center as a precaution. On Monday, an 18-month old girl nearly drowned in a pool at a home in the 56000 block of Desert Gold in Yucca Valley. Family friends report that 18-month-old girl is now home and recovering well.
