The theme of 2020 Weed Show, sponsored by the Twentynine Palms Historical Society, is “Desert Skies.” The Weed Show is a twist on the traditional concept of a floral display, using desert vegetation as well as found objects—both natural and man-made. Entries are judged on subject matter, use of desert vegetation, use of accessories, artistic composition, and originality. Awards are won in twelve categories, with a “People’s Choice” award to be decided by visitors to the exhibition. This year’s weed show is scheduled for noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday, November 7, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, November 8. If you want to enter the weed show, take-in is from 2 to 6 p.m. Thursday; noon to 4 p.m. Friday, and 7 to 9 a.m. on Saturday. Face masks and social distancing will be required.
