Civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr. will be honored on January 17 across the country, and here in the Morongo Basin in Twentynine Palms. To commemorate King’s birthday, the Palms Baptist Church in Twentynine Palms will hold its annual march. The one-mile march celebration starts promptly at 8 a.m. at Little Church of the Desert, 6079 Adobe Road, and ends at Palms Baptist Church, 5285 Adobe Road. Following the march at 9 a.m. will be a Prayer Bowl at Palms Baptist Church with the theme “Driving the Dream Forward”.
