DRCEP PRE-MEETING TONIGHT, MEETING WEDNESDAY

The Desert Renewable Energy Conservation Plan (DRECP) continues to be the focus of many local environmentalists’ interests. Dan Stork says there will be a related meeting this week, and a meeting before the meeting…
Following requests by local residents, the Bureau of Land Management has scheduled an opportunity for public input on the latest draft of the Desert Renewable Energy Conservation Plan—which is about where to put industrial scale solar, wind and geothermal renewable energy projects on public and private lands in the California desert. That meeting will be held on Wednesday, November 19, in Joshua Tree at the Joshua Tree Community Center on Sunburst from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. To get ready for that meeting, the California Desert Coalition is publicizing a get-together tonight Monday, November 17, at the Joshua Tree San Bernardino County Building’s first floor large conference room (down the hall from Supervisor Ramos’ office) from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Attendees at the Monday meeting will get advice on talking points for the Wednesday meeting.
