If you have whiskers, come be part of the beard contest during the Yucca Valley Grubstake Days community event this Saturday. Ten prizes will be awarded for beards that look most like real and imaginary famous people, such as Chuck Norris, Colonel Sanders, Captain Jack Sparrow, ZZ Top, Buffalo Bill, Gandolph, Pancho Villa, Snuffy Smith, Ned Flanders, and Duck Dynasty. The trophies for this year’s event were created by the Town of Yucca Valley’s Woodcarving Class, who used their imagination to carve them out of raw stumps. To participate in the Beard contest show up at the main stage, on Little League Drive on Saturday, May 25 at 11:30 a.m. Cheers from the audience will determine the winners.
