AN UPDATE ON A 7-YEAR-OLD STRUCK IN TWENTYNINE PALMS FRIDAY

We have more information about the 7-year-old Twentynine Palms girl who was hit by a car last Friday (April 2) while playing in her father’s wheelchair. Reporter Cassidy Taylor has more information…

The 7-year-old girl, named Kaylee, was playing in her father’s wheelchair when the chair rolled into the intersection of El Paseo Drive and Abronia Avenue and was struck by a car. Kaylee suffered a broken leg and was taken to Loma Linda Children’s Hospital. According to family and friends, Kaylee was unresponsive until Sunday when she spoke a few words; however, they say she is now able to breathe on her own with the help of oxygen.

Reach Out Morongo Basin has provided a new wheelchair to Kaylee’s father, who is paralyzed from the waist down, to replace the one that was demolished in the accident.

A GoFundMe page has been set up to help Kaylee’s family with expenses while she is in the hospital.
