The opening night gala for Theatre 29’s first production of the 2015 season, Oscar Wilde’s comedy “An Ideal Husband” will be sponsored by Soroptimists International of 29 Palms. Here’s entertainment reporter Rebecca Havely with all the gala details…
The classic comedy, “An Ideal Husband,” opens the Theatre 29 season with a gala fundraiser benefitting the Soroptimists International. Written by Oscar Wilde and co-directed by Butch Pelfrey and Tom Highfill, this delightful drawing-room comedy opens Friday, January 9. The cost for the opening night gala only is $25. and includes heavy hors d’oeuvres and beverages when the doors open at 6 p.m., curtain at 7 p.m. and decadent desserts at intermission. Other offerings include a silent auction, a 50/50 drawing and a joint fundraiser for both the Soroptimists and Sky’s the Limit. Raffle tickets for a beautiful handmade quilt with a star theme will be sold with the winner drawn at a future date. Tickets for the gala are available at the Flower Garden Florist, Z107.7 radio, the 29 Palms Chamber of Commerce and from any Soroptimist. After the opening gala, tickets will be at their regular price of $8, $10, and $12, and will be available at theatre29.org or by calling the box office at 760-361-4151. “An Ideal Husband” will run 5 consecutive weekends through February 7.
