AN ATTEMPTED MURDER IN WONDER VALLEY

Sheriff’s detectives are investigating an attempted murder in Wonder Valley Thursday. According to Sheriff’s Sergeant Robert Warrick, a woman in the 81000 block of Witt Drive in Wonder Valley called 911 to report that her neighbor from the 3100 block of Shelton Road had come to her door about 1:30 a.m. Thursday morning and said he had been stabbed. The unidentified victim had been stabbed once in the face and multiple times in the back. The victim was flown to Desert Hospital in Palm Springs. Detectives obtained a search warrant and located evidence, including narcotics and ammunition, and a 40-mm grenade, which was turned over to the Sheriff’s bomb and arson squad. Warrick said no arrests have been made yet in the attempted murder and the case is still under investigation.
