AN ATTEMPTED CARJACKING IN LANDERS

A woman reported an attempted carjacking Saturday night in Landers. According to a Sheriff’s report, a woman—who was not identified—was coming to a stop at Landers Lane and Reche Road about 9:30 p.m. when she said a white male jumped out in front of her car, causing her to brake. She said the man reached in through her open window and grabbed her shirt, punched her in the face, and demanded she turn over her vehicle to him. The woman accelerated and drove away. Anyone with information about the attempted carjacking should call the Sheriff’s Department at 760-366-4175.
