AN ARREST AFTER A DRIVE-THROUGH BACKUP

A Twentynine Palms man was arrested Wednesday night after he allegedly backed his car into another car in a drive-through restaurant. According to a Sheriff’s report, Anthony Masi, 58, was in the drive-through lane at the Twentynine Palms McDonald’s when he got tired of waiting and tried to back up to get out of the line. However, the report states he didn’t check his rear-view mirror first, and backed into a 2010 Kia Forte in line behind him. After an investigation, Anthony Masi was arrested on suspicion of driving on a suspended driver’s license, driving without insurance, driving under the influence of a controlled substance, and on a $50,000 warrant for possession of a controlled substance. He was booked at the Morongo Basin Jail and is being held on his warrant.
