AN ALTERCATION AT A YUCCA VALLEY BUSINESS LEADS TO AN ARREST

A Yucca Valley man was arrested after an altercation at a local business. Sheriff’s Deputy Abernathy said Friday evening (April 22) at about 7:00, while at the Joshua Tree Distilling Company in the Monterey Business Center in Yucca Valley, Michael Edmiston, 65, assaulted the staff. During the altercation, Edmiston threw a glass cup from about three feet away, the employee ducked causing the glass to strike the wall behind her, damaging the wall. While being escorted out, Edmiston knocked a painting off the wall causing about $650.00 worth of damages to the painting. After investigation, Michael Edmiston was contacted and arrested for investigation of Assault with a Deadly Weapon Likely to Produce Great Bodily Injury and Vandalism over $450.00. Edmiston was booked at the Morongo Basin Jail with bail set at $100,000. Anyone with information regarding this incident is urged to contact the Morongo Basin Station (760)-366-4175
