“ALMOST LOVE” OPENING NIGHT GALA TO BENEFIT THEATRE 29
A delightful, humorous, tongue-in-cheek look at the downside of love is in store for Morongo Basin audiences with the region’s top talent gathering for this weekend only for “Almost Love”, February 18-19-20. The Friday evening Gala Grand Opening will be a fund-raiser for Theatre 29, With much-needed funding going to Covid-deferred maintenance and improvements at the Twentynine Palms Community Theater at 73637 Sullivan Road.
This romantic comedy cabaret show at Theatre 29 will showcase the anti-hero lovers of Broadway musicals as performed by the talented cast of Haley Kooyman, Jericho McNeltier, Jasmine Shaffer, Scott Clinkscales, Liyan McNeltier, Graham Cooley, Audra Puccio Nagby, John Pollnow, Lisa Goldberg, and Ian Ferris. “Almost Love” was conceived and is artistically and musically directed by Liyan McNeltier with choreography by Scott Clinkscales and Lisa Goldberg. This production is rated M for mature audiences.
The opening night Friday, February 18, is a fund-raiser for the all-volunteer Theatre 29 non-profit organization with sweet treats and fun prior to the 7:00 pm show and tickets at $25.00. The doors will open at 6:00 pm for the gala with dessert treat boxes for patrons. Two lucky attendees will get a “Love Seat” in the front row with a brief live auction before the show. Generous Morongo Basin businesses have donated a wide variety of gift baskets, gift cards, and unique local art which will be featured in a silent auction.
Tickets for the Opening Night event are $25.00 for open seating. Tickets are available at www.theatre29.org, calling the theatre 29 Box Office at 760-361-4151, or at the Z107.7 Studios in Joshua Tree. After opening night, tickets for the Saturday, February 19, 7:00 pm show and Sunday, February 20 2:30 pm performances are $15.00 General Admission and $12.50 for Seniors and Military. The show is not recommended for children under 13. A service charge will be added. Proof of vaccination and masking is required for all attendees.
