Alcohol is believed to be a factor in a crash in Yucca Valley early Thursday morning. According to Sheriff’s Sergeant Matthew Yost, Richard Sanchez, 27, of Yucca Valley, was driving his 1995 Lexus northbound on Avalon Avenue about 2:18 a.m. when he lost control of the car rounding a curve. The car left the road, rolled over twice, and slammed into the corner of a garage in the 7000 block of Avalon, coming to rest on its side against the garage. Sanchez suffered head injuries and was taken to Desert Hospital in Palm Springs. The Sheriff’s Department is investigating the crash.
