The Federal Aviation Administration has approved a temporary special use airspace in support of an exercise taking place at the Marine Corps Air-Ground Combat Center starting today. The temporary special use airspace allows the Marine Corps to undertake required, large-scale, combined-arms and maneuver training during the exercise. This temporary special use airspace temporarily modifies the base’s military operations areas to the southwest, south and east of the Combat Center and establishes a temporary restricted area over new training range lands in the Johnson Valley area. The temporary special use airspace will be activated August 2017. After the exercise is completed, the special use airspace will return to its previous designation.
