AIRPLANE MAKES HARD LANDING MONDAY IN TWENTYNINE PALMS

An airplane made a hard landing Monday when it landed in the open desert about four miles northwest of the Twentynine Palms airport. Firefighters were called to the 76400 block of Amboy Road just before 3 p.m. The pilot had unspecified injuries. The Federal Aviation Administration and the Sheriff’s Department are investigating.
