The 61st Airlift Squadron from the Air Force’s 19th Airlift Wing was training with Marines at the Twentynine Palms Marine Corps Air-Ground Combat Center. The airmen and Marines were testing their expeditionary refueling capabilities, among other training exercises, last week during Marine Air Ground Task Force Warfighting Exercise 2-21. MWX is a force-on-force exercise designed to challenge the task force, other U.S. forces, and allied nations’ militaries. The exercise pits the US forces against a peer adversary in a free-play environment to help forces with meeting current and future real world operational demands.
