Morongo Basin area drivers age 65 and older are invited to attend one of the upcoming “Age Well, Drive Smart” classes offered by the California Highway Patrol. The program’s goal is to help seniors maintain their driving independence for as long as they can safely drive. The course aims to help participants improve their driving skills and refresh their knowledge of the rules of the road, as well as how to adjust to normal age-related physical and mental changes. The classes last anywhere from one hour and 30 minutes to two hours, depending on participation. The class will be offered at the Town of Yucca Valley Senior Center on September 11 at 10 a.m. Also, an additional class will be offered at the Twentynine Palms City Hall in the Council Chambers on September 25 at 10 a.m. For questions or more information, call Officer Joan Griffin at 760-366-3707.
