We have additional information regarding a fire at a vacant duplex building in Twentynine Palms Friday (September 3). According to Sheriff’s reports, a bystander called 911 around 1:38 a.m. to report a structure fire in the 6600 block of Yucca Avenue in Twentynine Palms. Fire crews were notified and responded. Arriving crews found a duplex building and nearby power lines fully involved in flames. Fire crews mounted an attack and extinguished the fire. Crews searched the building extensively and determined it was empty. Preliminary reports from fire crews indicate the fire was caused by a vehicle in a parking stall in the building. The investigation is ongoing.
