A TWENTYNINE PALMS MAN HAS DIED FROM A FEBRUARY 18 CRASH

The elderly Twentynine Palms man who made a U-turn on Adobe Road causing a crash February 18 has died. Lewis Roller, 91, passed away Sunday at a skilled nursing facility in Palms Springs. Roller was driving a 2000 silver Suzuki north on Adobe Road about 4:30 p.m. when he made a hard left turn at Smith’s Ranch Road in front of Destiny Truitt-Storey, 22, of Yucca Valley, and crashing head on into her southbound 2005 gold Kia. Truitt-Storey had to be cut out of her car with the Jaws of Life. She was flown by Mercy Air to Desert Hospital in Palm Springs. Truitt-Storey’s passenger, Mariah Butler, 20, and Roller, were both taken to Desert Hospital.
