“The Sunshine Boys” continues to tickle the funny bone at Theatre 29. This weekend you have three chances to catch the comedy. Friday and Saturday night the curtain rises at 7 p.m. and Sunday afternoon the matinee begins at 2:30 p.m. The Neil Simon comedy focuses on an aging vaudevillian duo, Lewis and Clark, who delighted audiences in the vaudeville circuit for over forty-odd years. They grew to hate each other when Al Lewis decided to retire without consulting Willie Clark. The duo is now in their early seventies and CBS has invited the team to reunite for a TV special. Directed by Eddie Tucker the cast includes: Alfred Klein, Kurt Schauppner, Jeremy Volsteadt. Brittany Smith, Daneita Chestnut, Barry Inscore and Mike Shaw. This classic comedy of showbiz and friendship keeps audiences laughing from beginning to end.
“The Sunshine Boys” runs Friday and Saturday nights at 7 p.m. through February 13 with a 2:30 matinee on February 7. Tickets are $8 for students with I.D., $12 for military and seniors, general admission is $15. Tickets are available online at theatre29.org or by calling 760-361-4151.
