A STATE OF THE TOWN ADDRESS AT TONIGHT’S YUCCA VALLEY TOWN COUNCIL MEETING

Among the items on the consent agenda for tonight’s regular meeting of the Yucca Valley Town Council, the council will be asked to deny a claim by resident Irene Bazzle; set the annual permit application fee at $205 for personal indoor cultivation of marijuana; approve a subdivision improvement agreement for 107 houses at the southeast corner of Golden Bee Drive and Sage Avenue; and waive the fee for the Mara’s Christmas Wish event at the community center on December 25. Then, the council will elect its new mayor and mayor pro tem. Reports on the town’s finances and the citizen’s initiative impact concerning allowing commercial cultivation in town limits will be presented. And finally, the council will be urged to set a date for a special election for residents to vote on the commercial marijuana cultivation. The council will then go into closed session to discuss property negotiations, and a performance evaluation. Tonight’s meeting starts at 6 p.m. in the Yucca Room of the Yucca Valley Community Center.
