The Sheriff’s Department is investigating a stabbing that allegedly happened in Morongo Valley Wednesday. According to a Sheriff’s report, the victim went to the emergency room at Desert Hospital in Palm Springs about 8 a.m. with a stab wound. Medical workers called deputies; the victim said he confronted an intruder on his property in the 9400 block of Piedras Trail. When the victim attempted to take the suspect to the ground, he was stabbed in the side with a steak knife. The suspect then fled. The victim described the suspect as about 6 feet 1 inches tall, weighing between 150 and 170 pounds, wearing a tattered black hoodie with a blue denim patch over a rip on the left shoulder.
