An earthquake rattled the Twentynine Palms area yesterday afternoon. According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the shallow magnitude 3.7 earthquake was reported Wednesday afternoon in Joshua Tree National Park, 13 miles south of Twentynine Palms. The temblor occurred at 5:18 p.m. at a depth of 1.9 miles. According to the USGS, the epicenter was 18 miles from Indio, 19 miles from Coachella, and 24 miles from Palm Desert. There were no reports of damage or injury.
