A series of small earthquakes rattled our desert region over the weekend. The US Geological Survey reports two rumbled nearby Saturday; a magnitude 3.2 earthquake struck about 10 miles northwest of Desert Hot Springs at 2:02 p.m., and a 2.9 near Anza just before noon. Then Sunday, a magnitude 3.3 earthquake struck about seven miles south of Joshua Tree at 1:16 p.m. People reported feeling the small quake on the USGS’s website from Twentynine Palms, Desert Hot Springs, Cathedral City and Indio. There were no reports of any damage or any aftershocks.
