Recycling is second nature for most of us by now, but every day, tons of trash is thrown away that could be recycled. A 2011 state law requires that Californians are to recycle or compost 75 percent of solid waste by the year 2020. Managing editor Tami Roleff has this reminder to reduce, reuse, and recycle…
Reduce waste and help save our planet. You can make a difference in how much trash is emptied into our landfills. It’s a life-style choice and life habit choice to reduce waste. It means buying items that are environmentally friendly, knowing how to recycle, and forming new habits. It doesn’t cost you anything to recycle, and, in many cases, you will save money. Get a recycling plan in place at home; compost wet garbage and use it for plants or in the garden; volunteer to be responsible for recycling at the workplace and be aware of waste when you shop.
