The Hi-Desert Water District Wastewater Treatment Department wants to remind the Yucca Valley community that baby wipes and household cleaning wipes clog sewer pipes; that includes wipes that are labeled “flushable.” Wipes and other thick paper products can severely impact sewer pipes in your neighborhood and can cause blockages and overflows into your home. Sewer overflows create an additional public health risk in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. Please help prevent clogged pipes and sewage overflows by only flushing toilet paper or human waste down the toilet.
