With a recent spate of fatal and major injury crashes, the Morongo Basin Station of the California Highway Patrol is offering some traffic safety tips. Public information and Traffic officer Alex Scott joins us…
The Morongo Basin has experienced several recent traffic collisions in which people have been tragically killed. Several factors played a role in these fatalities: exceeding the speed limit, not wearing a seatbelt, and driving while distracted. Please, wear your seatbelt every trip, every time. It can definitely save your life. For those of you with children, be sure to buckle your kids properly. The CHP is happy to help you install child car seats if you aren’t sure how. Also, watch your speed and be courteous to others on the road. And lastly, operating a motor vehicle requires all our attention. Please don’t do anything—such as talking on the phone, texting, or reading—that could cause you to be distracted while driving.
