A staff member at Twentynine Palms Elementary School was diagnosed with bacterial meningitis by an infectious disease specialist on Sunday evening. According to the report, the specialist cited that the event was an isolated case caused by an ear infection and determined that it was not contagious. The Morongo Unified School District immediately reported the findings to public health officials and notified the parents of students. The district is taking the precautionary measure of deep-cleaning the school in accordance with district policies to ensure the safety of students.
