The Friends of the Joshua Tree Library are hosting a reception and artist talk for local artist Janis Commentz whose art exhibit is currently on view. The reception and talk will be from 12:30 to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 11. The artist talk will begin at 1:00 p.m. The reception is free and the Friends of the Library will provide light refreshments. Commentz will share her inspirations and talk about her artwork. Janis Commentz has lived in the high desert for 37 years. Janis learned to paint early and has almost always enjoyed drawing and painting people. She earned a B.A. in art and British literature at the University of Redlands and an M.A. in Education from California State University at San Bernardino. Janis taught art and English at Sky High School for over three decades.
