The Yucca Valley High School Trojan football team lost 42-0 Thursday night at Palm Desert High School. Coach JD Thompson said the defense played tremendously in the loss, with standout play by Tayten Shartel, Henry Soto, Hayden Higgins and Nikki Gutierrez and Jesse Meza.
The offense moved the ball well with a strong performance from Riley Morris, Anthony Olvera and Aaron Arceo; while Albert Montes-Reyes led the team in receiving.
Thompson said the offense turned the ball over six times (with five interceptions) in the ballgame, creating a one-sided result. Yucca Valley is 1-2 on the year heading into league play next week.
