A LECTURE ON THE ADOBES OF TWENTYNINE PALMS

You can learn about the adobes of Twentynine Palms from an author who lives in one of the very first ones built. Reporter Sara Snyder invites you to the Old Schoolhouse Museum Lecture…

The adobes of Twentynine Palms will be the topic of the Old Schoolhouse lecture tonight. Pat Rimmington and her husband Sid bought the John Meyer adobe house in 1977. The Rimmingtons learned it was built in 1929 and is the oldest standing adobe homestead in Twentynine Palms. They attended seminars on adobe construction; Sid learned how to make the bricks and prepare the plaster while Pat learned how to restore and maintain the adobe. The lecture will be held at 7 p.m. tonight at the Old Schoolhouse museum on National Park Drive. Admission is $5 at the door.
