Two Twentynine Palms men were arrested early Sunday morning, accused of robbing a convenience store with a knife. According to Sheriff’s deputy Armando Cantu, a man wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and a Halloween mask entered the Circle K convenience store in the 73900 block of 29 Palms Highway about 3 a.m. Sunday and demanded money from the clerk while the second man served as a look-out. After being handed an undetermined amount of cash, the men fled. Deputies searched the area and Deputy Cantu located two men— identified as Zachary Nicholson, 21, and Joseph Fitzpatrick, 22— who matched the description of the robbery suspects. A Sheriff’s press release states the men were positively identified and cash was recovered from one of the suspect’s homes. Zachary Nicholson and Joseph Fitzpatrick were booked at the Morongo Basin Jail for investigation of robbery, with their bail set at $100,000 each.
