The Twentynine Palms High School varsity football team traveled to Redlands Friday to face the the Arrowhead Christian Eagles. The ‘Cats jumped out to a 10-0 first quarter lead, and never looked back as senior Kyle Hope and junior Gunnar Moss forced a wild option pitch on the Eagles’ first play from scrimmage. The ball bounced into the end zone where the defense led by Arlen Myers sacked the running back in the end zone for a safety and a 2-0 lead. With great field position after the free kick, the ‘Cats scored on a 33-yard touchdown pass from Jimmy Shragge to Kyle Hope. The senior quarterback had an outstanding game for the night, completing 12 of 18 passes for 238 yards and five touchdowns. Magwood combined for 34 tackles, five quarterback sacks, and two forced fumbles in outstanding efforts.
