The Hi-Desert Water District board of directors met in a routine meeting last night. Managing editor Tami Roleff was there and files this report…
The Hi-Desert Water District board of directors had fun at last night’s meeting. When the board was presented with an agenda item to approve the vacation of an easement behind Von’s, because it wasn’t needed anymore, the idea that board members needed a vacation became a running joke throughout the rest of the meeting. On the serious side, the board approved the paperwork to receive a grant for $130,000 from the Mojave Water Agency that will be used to see what mitigation processes must be put in place for phases 2 and 3 of the sewer project. And finally, the board approved a contract to purchase a new Chevy pick-up truck for $39,000, and approved leasing a copier from a local company, AIS, for five years for almost $40,000.
